Eyeballs

These didn't look as much like eyeballs as I had imagined--I think I'll try something different with boiled eggs next time (lots of ideas online!).

Ingredients:
grapes
raisins
cool whip
toothpicks
1/2 an orange

Directions:
Stick toothpick in grape, letting it stick out the top a little and put the raisin on that. I tried putting on the cool whip afterwards, just since it seemed messy to put the raisin on top of the cool whip, but that is where it was a bit hard--maybe the spraying cool whip would make it easier! I just used my finger to put on the cool whip--the spoon wasn't cuttin' it! Stick the toothpick in the orange.

Bloody Cups for Halloween

This is so easy, it seems funny to post it, but I had a request for the recipes or ideas, so here it is:).

Ingredients:
honey
red food coloring

Directions:
Heat the two together (about 1 Tbsp. honey and a couple drops red food coloring) in the microwave. What I had read was to dip the rims, but that was going to get sticky, so I just took a spoon, scooped up some of the mix, and ran it around the top of the glass. I served it with lemonade mixed with chocolate sprinkles and raisins to make it like bugs in their drinks. The honey mixture actually stayed on for a while before dissolving into the lemonade.

Spiderweb Green Dip with Witches' Hats

My kids didn't really love the guacamole, but that just meant there was more for us grown-ups:). They still ate the chips and thought it was cool though.

Ingredients:
tortilla chips (those are the witches' hats--it'd be cuter with colored ones, but I couldn't find any)
2 avocados
2 Tbsp. salsa
garlic salt
sour cream

Directions:
Mash avocado with the salsa, garlic salt, and a spoonful of sour cream. Spread in bowl. Put a Tbsp. of sour cream in a baggie, twist, and cut a small hole in the corner of the bag. Swirl around in circles and make it like a spider web. Serve with tortilla chips! I think I'd add some green food coloring to make it more Halloween-ish.

Witches' Fingers

I know, these are so gross-looking, but fun for the kids!

Ingredients:
Hot Dogs
Ketchup
Slivered Almonds

Directions:
Take knife and cut where the joints would be in a finger. Cut part of the tip off, at an angel. Glob ketchup all over the bottom, and a dab on the tip, and add a slivered almond for the fingernail. I baked mine for about 10 minutes, then set it on broil to get it looking really gross!
